Truth about Fasting |
8 Apr |
Many people are afraid of fasting. Most often, people are afraid of something because they don’t have any idea on that something. This is an example of how fear of the unknown works. Likewise, for many people, they only have little idea on the processes happening on their physiology during fasting.
Fasting is defined as a state of a complete rest physiologically. Fasting is accomplished by stopping eating and just drinking only clean and pure water. It is ideally done in an environment where there is minimal mental and physical exertion.
When animals get sick, it is in their nature to just lie down and sleep. They will rest without food until they will get better. This is both and entirely effective and instinctive behavior.
When fasting, there are some contradictions. For example is if you are in a certain type of cancer or if you are suffering from anorexia. In these conditions, you may not have reserves to buffer them against stress of detoxification or nourishing the body. On the other hand, fasting is great for those who are planning to have a baby, but it is not suitable to those who are already pregnant.
